My vision
I have been practising karate since I was very young and during this endless journey of learning, I have found myself at a point where the history of kata has caught my attention.
Why cards?
I wanted to recompile the history of 26 kata in a different and fun format. There are many books and a lot of information spread over the internet. So with the Karate Cards deck, you will be able to learn and visualize the information in a unique way.
Why did I decide to create Karate Cards?
The history of kata is not usually discussed during a karate class and now that it has caught my attention, I could not find an official source for this. Of course not all the information of a kata fits in a card, it is simply a different way of presenting it, and what I want is to arouse the curiosity of those who still do not know its history.
What katas do I include?
As I have studied Shotokan in my early days, the 26 katas that I include are the official ones of this, but I have discovered that many katas were created before the styles were even defined. I have practiced others and would love to add more kata to the deck. Tell me which are your favorite katas and I will add them in future editions!
